The Creep Out Creeping In

This was my idea for the third (fourth?) round of the SixWordStories contest. The prompt was Creeped Out, if I believe.

I find creepiness distinct from most fear. It is more about being unsettling. The "Nothing is scarier fact". Creepy is more of a slow subtle fear, crawling into every nook and cranny of your brain. It is paranoia, in some effects. It is more ignorable, but it begins to eat away at you. It is like a slow poison.

It is the thoughts that there is something there you can't prove, that you're not alone when you should be. Or something is out of place when you know when everything is in place. It is the thoughts like that.
